MacSailing offers a complete sailing experience that is relaxed, easy and fun. Our instructors are all Canadian Yachting Association (CYA) or equivalent certified.

Younger children (ages 7-10) learn to sail in the smaller Optimists, while those ages 10 -14 years learn in Escapes. Older students (ages 11-16) can take the more rigorous CYA program and sail Pirates.

Level I courses provide a safe, fun introduction to sailing. Students sail with a partner and learn the basics of sailing in a controlled safe manner. Level II courses provide sailors with an opportunity to sail by themselves and develop additional sailing skills over a broader wind range. Level III provides an introduction to racing and more advanced sailing skills. Curriculum for the three levels includes: rigging and de-rigging, understanding the wind, tacking, boat handling, capsize recovery and tying knots. Level I is a pre-requisite for Level II, which is a pre-requisite for Level III.

MACSAILING'S CHILDREN'S COURSES ARE ELIGIBLE FOR THE CANADIAN GOVERNMENT CHILDREN'S FITNESS TAX CREDIT
